Be involved in sustainable forestry: volunteer at Hopkins Demonstration Forest
Guests and volunteers learn by doing and share their talents with others. We offer activities appropriate for all ages: individuals and families, youth and community groups are welcome.

Community Forestry Day -
Dog Days
August is the best month to apply weather sealant to our shake roofs, paint and stain various structures in the forest, and complete construction or maintenance projects on our buildings and trails. If you are handy with a hammer or like to use a paint brush - this Community Forestry Day is for you.
8:30am Team leaders arrive, volunteer teams assemble
9:00pm Volunteer Projects
Noon Lunch- please call ahead so we know to expect you
1:00pm Volunteer projects continue
2:00pm Tour provides an insider's view of sustainable forestry; 90-minutes with some walking on rough or un-even ground.
4:00pm Put tools away and clean up
